Important. BuildStack is an assistance tool only. All AI-generated content must be reviewed and verified by a qualified professional before being shared with clients or used to instruct works. Professional responsibility for all outputs remains with the named surveyor or professional.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BuildStack you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Caradon AI Ltd (trading as BuildStack), registered in England and Wales (company number 16701624), operated at getbuildstack.co.uk.

2. What BuildStack Provides

BuildStack is a platform for building surveyors, contract administrators, property consultants, and defect and snagging professionals. It enables users to log defects, attach site photographs, run AI-assisted analysis, and produce inspection reports and schedules of works.

BuildStack is an assistance tool - not a licensed diagnostic or professional advice service. It does not independently inspect, survey, measure, test, design, certify, or approve anything. All outputs are draft outputs dependent entirely on the information you provide.

3. Your Responsibilities

By using BuildStack you agree that:

You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before sharing it with clients or using it to instruct works.
You are a qualified professional or are acting under the supervision of one.
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all data you enter into the platform.
You must not use BuildStack for unlawful purposes or in breach of any professional duty or regulatory obligation.
You must not attempt to circumvent any usage limits, access controls, or security measures.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

4. AI-Generated Content - Important

The AI analysis feature generates draft content based on the defect descriptions, site notes, and photographs you provide. By using AI features you acknowledge that:

BuildStack is an assistant tool only. AI outputs are draft guidance and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances.
All AI-generated content must be reviewed, edited, and approved by a suitably qualified professional before being shared with clients, contractors, or any third party.
BuildStack accepts no liability for advice, diagnosis, or recommendations issued to third parties without prior professional review.
Professional responsibility for all outputs remains with the named surveyor or professional who issues them.
You must not represent any AI output as the independent professional opinion of a chartered surveyor, engineer, or other qualified professional unless a qualified professional has reviewed and accepted responsibility for that output.

5. Payments and Billing

Free plan: Free until you export - no credit card required.

Paid plans are described on the pricing page. Solo and Professional are monthly subscriptions that can be cancelled at any time with no penalty; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

All prices are in GBP and are the total amount charged.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@getbuildstack.co.uk with any billing queries.

6. Data and Privacy

Your data belongs to you. We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using BuildStack you acknowledge that we will process your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

BuildStack and its underlying technology, software, and AI models are owned by Caradon AI Ltd (trading as BuildStack) or its licensors. You retain full ownership of all data, photographs, project records, and content you create using the platform. By uploading content you grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

BuildStack is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Caradon AI Ltd (trading as BuildStack) excludes all liability for:

any loss or damage arising from reliance on AI outputs that have not been independently reviewed and verified by a qualified professional
loss of data, loss of profits, loss of revenue, or any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses
any outputs issued to third parties by users of the platform

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to this, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from use of the service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. On closure, your data will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in prohibited use of the service, or have overdue payments. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we each agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Where changes are material we will notify you. Continued use of BuildStack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
